My review of Ace Dental Budapest in Hungary

This website is an honest and accurate review of my very NEGATIVE experience getting 3 implants done at Ace Dental Budapest, Hungary (whose owners also own BSW Zahnklinik)

www.acedentalbudapest.hu

www.bsw-zahnklinik.com

It documents what I consider to be their poor medical professionalism, their total lack of financial accountability and their rude and incompetent customer service.

I am making this review public so that other people from the UK, Germany and also Hungary are well informed as to what my personal experience was like, getting 3 implants at Ace Dental Budapest

The people I interacted with at Ace Dental Budapest are the following:

1- Dr Jozsef Piffko - the doctor who performed the failed implant procedure

2 - Dr Marton Horvath - the owner of Ace Dental

3 - Laura Von Kontz - the then Ace Dental office manager who now works at BSW-Zahnklinik (https://bsw-zahnklinik.com/kontakt/ )

Dr Marton Horvath - the owner of Ace Dental Budapest who refused to see me when my implant was infected and who never offered to return the money I gave him in good faith.

Dr Jozsef Piffko - who did the implant procedure that failed. I made numerous attempts to contact him personally, but was also ignored.

Laura "Von" Kontz was the office manager at the time. She was rude, aggressive and spiteful. She now works at:

I entered Ace Dental www.acedentalbudapest.hu in 2021 around August looking for advise regarding 5 missing bottom teeth I sustained in a car accident years ago. We discussed 2 options - a bridge or getting 3 implants / crowns. It was recommended that I get implants and I was GUARANTEED that the whole process would take 3 months as I had to leave Hungary and return to Australia.

I was advised by a Dr Jozsef Piffko that I had sufficient bone in place and that I should proceed with the implant operation. I proceeded with having 3 implant posts inserted in to my lower jawbone and 5 days later I had a temporary bridge placed over the these implants for good appearance etc.

The process of having this temporary bridge placed in my mouth was the worst dental experience I have ever had. It was clear and obvious that what their laboratory had made was way too big and thus way too tight. As a result, the bridge was incredibly uncomfortable and was pressuring my other adjacent healthy teeth !

I told this to the young and clearly inexperienced dentist who was given the task of fitting the bridge in to my mouth on that day. She basically rolled her eyes, complained to her manager, (a miss Esther Pato) and proceeded to angrily remove the bridge. It was so tight that she had to smash it out with a hook and a hammer. This process went on 3 or 4 times. Each time the dentist was hooking the bridge out of my mouth one of my newly inserted implants felt like it was being pulled out as well. It was painful and I couldn't believe what she was doing. Any questions I asked was met with a roll of the eyes. ( I was later told by another dentist that I was lucky this implant was not ripped out of my jaw !! ) This "dentist" was poorly trained, as delicate as a truck driver, rude and just wanted to go home.

After a number of weeks, I contacted Ace Dental Budapest informing them that one of my implants seemed infected and that I was in pain. I never received a reply. I then contacted them again a number of times, including by phone, (I spoke to a Miss Esther Pato) but I was never contacted back. I eventually went into the dental practise and asked them why they had not contacted me and that I was promised the whole process would take 3 months.

I was told by the manager on duty, a miss "Laura Von Kontz", a German girl living in Hungary, who was employed by Ace Dental Budapest at the time and who now works at
https://bsw-zahnklinik.com/ as a "dental tourist marketer" targeting foreign and local people, that:

"It's not our job to contact you"

I was completely shocked and replied to her that "Ace Dental Budapest are supposed to be the professionals in this equation and it was up to them to guide me as to what was next and when, either by email or by phone and that considering we were talking about a 5000 Euro job, I expected more."

I also reminded this young girl that I was guaranteed the whole process would take exactly 3 months and that I am in pain and expect my situation to be remedied immediately. Clearly not liking this reality check she spitefully booked me in to see Dr Piffko again, a further
3 months later. When I reminded her again I was in pain and that I was promised by 2 dentists at Ace Dental that the whole procedure would be done in 3 months, she basically ignored me with a look of self satisfaction. She thought she would show me who is boss and I walked out of the dental practise absolutely disgusted.

A few days later, I returned and demanded to speak to the owner of Ace Dental
www.acedentalbudapest.hu who is a Dr Marton Horwath and who was present in his office at the time. I was told the owner refused to see me and that I had to wait another 3 months despite the fact I was in pain and I was now looking at the whole procedure taking 6-8 months at a minimum, even though I told them many times I had to leave Hungary after 3 months ! I reminded them of the fact the I trusted Ace Dental and I had given them over 50 % of the money "upfront" in good faith, expecting some professional integrity. I was again met with a blank and smarting look from miss Laura Von Kontz.

At this point I left the dental practise www.acedentalbudapest.hu again in complete disgust that the owner didn't have the professional concern or integrity to see what was going on with my implants, which were clearly failing.

In a side note, a few weeks later, in "out of work" hours, I happened to have seen one of the receptionists from Ace Dental (a Miss Victoria Toth-Patko) in a restaurant. I asked her why Ace Dental www.acedentalbudapest.hu had been so nasty and why this Laura Von Kontz who now works at https://bsw-zahnklinik.com/kontakt/ was so unprofessional and rude. I was told by this receptionist, (miss Toth-Patko) that she planned to quit working at this dental practise, that she also, like me, considered Ace Dental Budapest, totally dysfunctional and unprofessional and that she also felt the way I was treated was absolutely unprofessional and disgusting !

She also informed me that the owner Mr Martin Horvath had been having trouble with another unhappy patient from the UK who had started legal proceedings against Ace Dental Budapest
www.acedentalbudapest.hu in a Hungarian court and that with regards to my situation "he didn't want any more trouble" and so decided to ignore me !

I was shortly thereafter never once contacted by Ace Dental to address my situation regarding my infected implant. They never offered to address my situation, "when it was needed" and never once offered to return the money I gave them in advance. They simply left me in a totally precarious situation.

After then seeing another dentist, I had to have one of the 3 implants removed, as it totally failed. I was informed that the implants were not placed deeply enough and that in fact I did not have enough supporting bone for implants, in the first place, contrary to the advise I was given by Dr Piffko, who said that it would "be fine"

Additionally because the failed implant, was placed so close to my adjacent healthy tooth (a totally amateur mistake I was later informed) I also had to have that tooth REMOVED as well.

As a consequence I was left with a 6 tooth wide hole in the bottom of my mouth and unable to re-do another implant.

I was faced with considerable additional expenses to correct what was done to me at Ace Dental. I could no longer have crowns but, rather was forced to resort to a very wide bridge, which is far from optimal.

In short - Ace Dental Budapest exhibited a total lack of professional integrity and workmanship at every level.

I gave Ace Dental Budapest at least EUR 2000 in advance to commence an implant job that completely failed and was faced with at least another EUR 750 to correct / prepare my mouth for the bride work, I eventually had done by another competent dentist. To date I have never been contacted by Ace Dental to re-imburse me the money I gave them in good faith.

Their commitment to complete the process within a 3 month period was summarily dismissed and their willingness with respect to contacting me at each stage in the process was non-existent. Upon hearing my complaints , they made it very clear they had no interest in finding a remedy.

As a result of my terrible experiences with Ace Dental Budapest, I suggest anyone considering visiting them for dental work in the future, stay well away !
